As of Wednesday May 12 there is no longer a limit to the amount of exercise or 'open-air recreation', such as sunbathing, you can do in England. You can also meet one person from another household outdoors whilst following the 2m social distancing advice. Here are ten walks around Scarborough suitable for a longer stroll of a family outing. Why not choose one of them to do this weekend, making sure to follow social distancing rules when you're out and about.
1. Forge Valley
If yo'd rather explore woodland than coastline, there's plenty to see at Forge Valley. The walkway makes this option accessible to all ages.
2. Headland
Some more high ground here to get the best of the coastal views. The paths around the headland give a glimpse into Scarborough's historic past with sights of the Castle.
3. Cleveland Way
The mammoth Cleveland Way is over 100 miles long stretching from Helmsley, over the moors and down the coast to Filey. There are plenty of sections to discover around Scarborough, including the cliffs above Scalby Mills.. Photo: Rose Habberley
4. Cinder Track
Popular with walkers and cyclists, the cinder track is a nice flat run all the way to Whitby so you can choose varying lengths depending on your fitness level and time constraints.
