The Met Office has now issued a rare amber 'extreme heat' warning for the region as temperatures are expected to continue to soar throughout the week, with North Yorkshire Police also issuing a rip tide warning.
Over the weekend tourists and residents flocked to North and South Bay to cool off in the sea and enjoy the blazing sunshine on the beach.
